Social Work
Is a profession for those with a strong desire to help improve people's lives. Social workers assist people by helping them cope with and solve issues in their everyday lives, such as family and personal problems and dealing with relationships. Some social workers help clients who face a disability, life-threatening disease, social problem, such as inadequate housing, unemployment, or substance abuse. Social workers also assist families that have serious domestic conflicts, sometimes involving child or spousal abuse. Additionally, they may conduct research, advocate for improved services, or become involved in planning or policy development. Many social workers specialize in serving a particular population or working in a specific setting. In all settings, these workers may also be called licensed clinical social workers, if they hold the appropriate with a mandated license.
Hypnosis
Has, been used as a psychological treatment for a variety of illnesses, with apparent success. While it is unlikely that hypnotic suggestions are capable of curing physical disease, they can be used to enhance relaxation and alleviate pain and other physical discomforts, and therefore they may make a positive contribution to the overall quality of care and of life. For example, several controlled studies have shown that hypnotic suggestions administered to patients who suffer from asthma can reduce both bronchodilator use and attacks of "wheezing", as well as increase peak expiratory flow rates. Hypnosis has also been used effectively in the treatment of irritable bowel syndrome, hyperemesis gravidarum (persistent nausea and vomiting) in pregnant women, and anticipatory nausea experienced by cancer patients who receive chemotherapy. Hypnotic suggestions have been observed to stimulate and inhibit allergic responses, and may also speed the healing of burns and wounds, but these issues require further carefully controlled study.
SASSI
SASSI profiles are useful in increasing awareness, eliciting further information, and establishing rapport. Presenting the results of the decision rules and discussing scale scores can help people understand the significance of their substance usage and identify treatment goals.
DAG - Rehabilitation / De-addiction have the general debate as to which is the ideal solution- Private or Public.
Public rehab centers have many patients and thus you need to wait for long periods.
Delay can sometimes change the mind of the client or addict and make things worse.
Also due to large number of patients getting personal attention becomes difficult. Since the number of patients is large they mostly go for group therapy which is not very effective in an addict situation.
Also since the number of patients waiting to join is huge sometimes public centers discharge a patient even before the recovery program is complete or the patient is ready to face the world.
Overall keeping in mind the best treatment for a client can have in spite of the higher expenses private centers have better equipped infinitely more monetary resources, adequate staff that have more time to spend with the patient and the willingness to successfully cure an addict who needs help.
